Our UK portfolio is over £1.4million. When my wife and I calculated the nil-rate bands for ourselves the government took a lot of inheritance tax on our estate even with the benefit of a will writing service recommended by CHL-Properties. We were grateful for all the good advice given to us by CHL especially the tips around selling off several “ buy to let” flats we own. We transfered the funds to Dubai where currently its possible to get DHs1.2m apartments down to DH750,000 . We were encouraged that Capital Gains Tax had gone down from 40% to 18% on 6th April 2008. All these pieces of advice from CHL greatly prompted us in our decision to sell up our “ buy to let “ flats and build up a small portfolio in Dubai.

We were disappointed to learn that our £400,000 flat in London SE1 had gone down in value from 2007 prices to £350,000 by mid 2008. A major price correction . We decided to sell on CHL’s advice . It was predicted that by mid 2009 , the same flat would be reduced by another 10% in value .
